Privacy Policy

BOOSTMAP is a public professional record, so most of what you put here is meant to be seen. This policy is about the parts that are not, and about what we do with everything else.

1. What we collect

• Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the account identifier and email Google gives us. We never receive your Google password.
• Profile and records: your name, what you do, your location as you choose to describe it, your bio, photos, vehicles, events, results, certifications and the relationships you record.
• Confirmations: when you or someone else confirms a relationship, we record who confirmed what and when.
• Technical: ordinary server logs, including IP address and browser, kept for security and debugging.
• For members aged 13 to 17 only: a parent or guardian’s name and email address, and the fact that they agreed. We do not ask for or store anyone’s date of birth.

We do not ask for or want your government ID number, your payment card number, your health information, or your precise home location.

2. What is public, and what never is

Your profile at BOOSTMAP/your-username is public. Your vehicles, events, results and confirmed relationships are public unless you mark an individual record otherwise.

These are never public, to anyone, at any visibility setting:

• Vehicle identification numbers. Not in full, not partially, not on hover, not in any API response. A VIN next to a name and a date is a tool for title fraud and chassis cloning. We store it only to match vehicles to each other, and vehicles are shown publicly under an opaque BOOSTMAP chassis identifier instead.
• Your email address. It is how we reach you, not part of your profile.

Vehicle ownership dates default to year granularity rather than exact dates. An ownership window combined with an event calendar says where a person physically was, and that is a level of detail nobody needs by default. Month and day are available if you choose them.

Maps on BOOSTMAP plot venues, never people. The map shows where an event was held. It never shows where you live, work, or keep a car.

3. Why we use it

• To run your account and show the profile you asked us to show.
• To let the people and organizations you name confirm or decline what you said about them.
• To keep the platform safe: preventing impersonation, fraud and abuse.
• To answer you when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not let an advertiser buy a placement targeted at you as an individual, or at your sponsors or your verified relationships.

4. Who else processes it

We use a small number of service providers to run BOOSTMAP. They process data on our instructions and for no other purpose:

• Supabase, for the database and authentication.
• Vercel, for hosting.
• Resend, for transactional email such as sign-in confirmations.
• Cloudflare, for DNS.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, and we will tell you when we are permitted to.

5. How long we keep it

BOOSTMAP is built to preserve history rather than overwrite it. A team you left, a sponsorship that ended and a car you sold stay in your record as past facts, because a career that silently rewrites itself is not a credible record.

When you close your account we remove your profile and your content from public view. Where your ownership of a vehicle sits in the middle of that vehicle’s history, it remains as an unnamed period rather than a gap. Confirmations other members depend on, and our internal audit logs, are retained.

6. Your choices

• See and correct anything on your profile, at any time.
• Set individual records to public, confirmed-parties-only, or private.
• Export your data.
• Close your account, subject to section 5.
• Dispute a record someone else published that names you. Corrections supersede the original rather than erasing it.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to processing and to complain to a regulator. Ask us and we will help.

7. Cookies

BOOSTMAP sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in and nothing else. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie on this site.

8. Members under 18

BOOSTMAP is open to people aged 13 and over. Under 13 we do not permit accounts at all, and we will close any we find.

A member aged 13 to 17 gives us their parent or guardian’s name and email when they sign up, and confirms that person has read these documents and agrees. We store that name and address for one purpose only: so we can reach the guardian about the account. It is never published, never shown to other members, and never used for marketing.

A parent or guardian can contact us and we will:

• show them what is on the account,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• close the account and remove the profile from public view,
• withdraw their agreement, which closes the account.

We never store a date of birth. An age band answers the only question we actually have, which is which rules apply, and a birth date is a far more useful thing for someone else to steal.

9. Security

Access to every record is enforced by the database itself rather than only by the application, every privileged action is logged, and no member can read another member’s private records. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects you.

10. Changes

When this policy changes, the version number changes and you will be asked to agree again. The version you agreed to, and the date, are recorded on your account.
